LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s soccer team (11-6-3) was dominant today at Hubert Jack Stadium as the Bald Eagles ripped past visiting Lake Erie College (4-15) 5-0.

The Haven scored all five goals in the opening half as LHU was firing on all cylinders.

Just 8:28 into the match, senior Leadopoe Geain (Philadelphia/Bartman) celebrated Senior Day in a big way as he netted the eventual game-winner less than 10 minutes in.

Greg Shertzer (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) made it 2-0 in the 19th minute and sophomore Martin Pletz (Pittsburgh/ Carlynton) scored two straight goals as LHU was in cruise control.

Senior Paul Huckett (Grimsby, England/Grimsby College) wasn’t to be outdone on Senior Day and put LHU up 5-0. Huckett also assisted on The Haven’s four goal, giving him 30 in his career, which is fourth best in school history.

Doug Moran (Butler, Pa./Butler) also picked up one assist.

The Bald Eagles defense was solid all 90 minutes and only allowed five shots including just one in the second 45 minutes of play. Paul Brungard (Howard, Pa./Central Moutain) and Kevin McCune (Butler, Pa./Butler), among others led the dominating defensive effort.

Billy Trimble (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) made two saves in the first half before giving way to Chris Custer (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) in the second. Custer wasn’t forced to make any saves as the Bald Eagles buckled down and dominated Lake Erie.

With the win today LHU improved to 11-6-3 on the year.
