Men's Cross Country sweeps PSAC honors
 

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The results for Coach, Player, and Rookie of the year for the Pennsylvania State Athlete Conference (PSAC) were announced yesterday, Dec. 4. Lock Haven University mens cross country’s head coach Aaron Russell, senior talent Ryan Blood (Summerdale, Pa./ East Pennsboro) and Freshman Brandon Pomerantz (Holland, Pa./Council Rock North) ran away with the honors.

This is Russell’s fourth consecutive PSAC Coach of the Year Award. Through Russell’s direction, his squad won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and East Region championships. The Bald Eagles have also been the PSAC Champions for the last four years in-a-row and have won three of the last four regional titles. LHU finished 11th overall at the NCAA Division II National Championship.

Blood took fourth place at the NCAA Division II Championship race; he was also the second American to cross the line. Due to this victory, Blood was an All-American selection. He also won the East Region meet by nearly 30 seconds and brought home his second PSAC title.

Pomerantz, had an impressive freshman season. He was an All-Conference PSAC and an All-Region selection. At the PSAC Championship race, he finished in 13th place, with a time of 26:51. He tabbed the 14th slot at the regional race. And at the NCAA Division II National championship race, Pomerantz stopped the watch at 32:06 which was good enough for 118th place.
