LHU Basketball - Men

Men’s Basketball falls on the road at Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s basketball team (0-2) fell to Shippensburg University (1-0) 63-45 tonight on the road in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action.

Shippensburg led wire to wire, as tonight marked the Red Raiders season opener. With the loss LHU falls to 0-2 on the young season.

A bright spot for Lock Haven head coach John Wilson Jr. was the play of two of his newcomers as the Bald Eagles were led by Warren Christian (Baltimore) and Eric Brennan (Chester, Pa.)

The two each scored eight points.

Brennan, a true-freshman had an all-around solid outing leading The Haven up and down the court. Along with his eight points, he pulled down nine rebounds, blocked two shots and dished out four assists.

Christian was also strong on the boards for LHU pulling in eight rebounds of his own.

Four different Bald Eagles scored six points as Lock Haven got 17 points off the bench.

Tyrone Palmer (Darby, Pa./Parkway) recorded a game-high 10 rebounds.

Billy Arre (Pittsburgh/Thomas Jefferson), was one of the Bald Eagles with six points. He also grabbed five rebounds and picked up two steals.

Shippensburg, LHU’s former PSAC Western Division rival is part of the PSAC Eastern Division this season because of the expansion and addition of Mercyhurst and Gannon Universities.

The Bald Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. when they play host to Wilmington College in their 2008 home opener at Thomas Fieldhouse.
