Four Lady Eagles earn All-PSAC East First Team accolades; trio sweeps top honors
 

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Four members of the Lock Haven University volleyball team have earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East First Team honors with a Haven trio sweeping PSAC East top honors.

Stacey Borgia (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) led the way for the Lady Eagles on the First Team as she was named PSAC East Player of the Year.

Rookie Haley Gribler (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy-Liberty) was named PSAC Freshman of the Year and LHU head coach Tom Justice picked up PSAC East Coach of the Year honors.

Along with Borgia, Fabiana Gomez (Montevideo, Uruguay/Consejo de. E.S.), Christie Naumann (Charters Towers, Austrailia/Gladstone) and Juliana Nascimento) all earned spots on the PSAC East First Team.

Borgia, a senior earned a first team selection at the middle hitter spot. Borgia leads the team in total kills with 378 and hit .482. Her .482 hitting percentage ranks second in the nation at the Division II level. Borgia also led the Lady Eagles in blocks (86) and digs (148).

Borgia recorded 10 or more kills in 24 matches this season, including a season-high 22 in a win over West Chester.

Gomez, a junior was a huge part of Lock Haven’s success so far this season. She leads the team in assists with 1096 including 10.90 per/set, which ranks as 20th - best in the nation. Gomez also has 52 kills, 48 blocks and 27 aces.

Naumann, a junior has been a key contributor for LHU serving. She recorded a team-high 66 aces to date. She is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation in aces/set with 0.67. Naumman also had 270 kills, which is second best on the Lady Eagle squad.

Nasimento, a senior turned a sensational season for LHU thus far. She has 215 kills, 35 blocks, 38 aces and 23 digs.

Gribler has been quite solid so far in her rookie campaign. She has 127 kills, 43 blocks and 27 aces.

Justice has helped lead the Lady Eagles to an impressive run thus far in 2008. LHU is currently 28-5 overall and went a perfect 12-0 in PSAC East action during the regular season. Most recently the Lady Eagles finished as PSAC Finalists after advancing to the championship match.

The Lady Eagles are back in action tomorrow at 5 p.m. when they take on Mercyhurst University in NCAA D-II Atlantic Region tournament action.
