Two Lady Eagles volleyball players named All-Region

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Two members of the Lock Haven University volleyball team have earned 2008 Daktronics NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Volleyball Team honors.

Both Stacey Borgia (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) and Christie Naumann (Charters Towers, Austrailia/Gladstone) earned spots on the Atlantic Region First Team.

The two were a huge reason behind the Lady Eagles successful season, as they led LHU all over the court. The Haven finished the 2008 season 29-6 overall and won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East regular season title after going 12-0 in division play.

Boriga, a senior and the 2008 PSAC East Player of the Year led Lock Haven in kills with 402, while hitting a sensational .479. Her .479 hitting percentage is currently second best in the nation after she led the nation much of the year.

She also led the team in digs and blocks with 147 and 87, respectively.

Naumann, a junior was Lock Haven’s ace serving. She recorded a team-high 71 aces using a phenomenal jump-serve. She also had 286 aces, from her outside-hitter spot, which was second best on the team.

Lock Haven was PSAC finalists and Atlantic Region semifinalists.
