STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University wrestling team (4-4) fell to No. 16 Penn State (5-3) 36-3 this afternoon at Rec Hall.

Prior to the match PSU was edged by No. 9 Lehigh 17-16.

Senior Ben Hepburn (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) provided a bright spot for the Bald Eagles, as he picked up a win at 197 pounds.

Hepburn downed Penn State’s Clay Steadman 3-2.

After a scoreless first period, Hepburn scored an escape in the second period after starting the period down. Hepburn led 1-0 after two.

Steadman started the third down and earned a quick escape, but Hepburn quickly responded with a takedown to help secure the 3-2 win, the Bald Eagles only victory on the day.

LHU is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 10 when the Bald Eagles take part in the Bulldog Duals, hosted by Gardner Webb University. Action with Davidson, Virginia Tech, The Citadel and GWU kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
