EDINBORO, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s basketball team (2-12, 0-1 PSAC West) was downed by host Edinboro University (11-3, 1-0 PSAC West) 87-72 in a thrilling Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West opener.
Leading the way for the Bald Eagles was Warren Christian (Baltimore/Catonsville C.C.), who recorded a double-double. He netted 10 points to go along with 12 rebounds as Christian pulled down the first double-double of his Haven career. He also blocked three shots.
Billy Arre (Pittsburgh/Thomas Jefferson) and Kelvin McLean (Newport News, Va./Heritage) both scored 18 points to help lead the Lock Haven offense. Each player also grabbed four boards.
Freshman Eric Brennan (Chester, Pa./West Catholic – Philadelphia) scored 16 points as he helped lead four different Bald Eagles in double-figures scoring. He also dished out a team-high five assists.
Jarrell Spence (Philadelphia/Scotland) added eight points.
The Bald Eagles shot 43 percent for the game.
LHU was down 38-31 at halftime and with 10:20 to play The Haven led by one point.
The Bald Eagles are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. when they host California (Pa.) University in PSAC West action.
