LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Junior Chris Edelman (Elverson, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) of the Lock Haven University men’s track & field team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for his recent efforts in dominating the indoor track for LHU.
Edelman, who has been on a tear so far this season for the Bald Eagles, continued that trend this past weekend in Boston, Mass.
He turned in another sizzling performance in the 400 meter dash in record-breaking fashion.
Edelman was fifth overall in a very deep Boston University Valentine Invitational field and finished as the top collegiate runner in the event.
His sensational time of 48.24 broke the LHU school record, is the top time in the PSAC and is the third-best mark in all of NCAA Division II men’s track.
Edelman wasn’t done there and was part of the Bald Eagles 4x400 meter relay team that made some serious noise in Beantown.
The Haven foursome clocked a time of 3:14.50, which smashed the school record and is the top time in the conference by over four full seconds.
LHU’s 4x4 also sits as the third fastest time in D-II this season.
The Haven men’s track & field team is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Denualt Invitational, hosted by Cornell University.
