Lady Eagles dive into PSAC Swimming Championships, Campbell breaks Haven’s second-oldest school record

The Lady Eagles kicked off competition tonight at the '09 PSAC Championships.

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swim team kicked off competition at the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming Championships tonight in a big way.

The PSAC Championships kicked off today at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pa. and are being hosted by California (Pa.) University. The meet runs until Sunday.

Freshman Kasey Campbell (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) was the only Lady Eagle to hit the pool tonight, but she made her swim a memorable one, setting the tone for LHU.

Competing in the 1,000 yard freestyle, Campbell broke The Haven’s second-oldest school record with a time of 10:57.12.

Campbell finished 18th in 29-person field.

LHU head coach Andy Waeger said, it was great way for his team to kick off the championships.

Action at the PSAC Championships continues tomorrow at Cumberland Valley.
