Lady Eagles solid on day two of PSAC Swimming Championships

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swim team was solid on day two of the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming Championships.

The PSAC Championships kicked off yesterday at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pa. and are being hosted by California (Pa.) University. The meet runs until Sunday.

After tonight’s competition the Lady Eagles are ninth overall with 41 points.

Lock Haven’s 41 points came by way of two solid relay performances and a ninth-place finish by sophomore Amanda Terray (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley).

Terry took ninth overall in the 50 yard freestyle with a NCAA Division II “B” cut time of 24.42.

The Haven got 32 team-points from its 200 yard freestyle and 400 IM relay teams.

LHU was 10th in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.90 and the Lady Eagles foursome placed ninth in the 400 IM relay with a time of 4:07.38

Last night (Thursday, Feb. 19) freshman Kasey Campbell (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) was the only Lady Eagle to hit the pool and she made her swim a memorable one. Competing in the 1,000 yard freestyle, Campbell broke The Haven’s second-oldest school record with a time of 10:57.12. Campbell finished 18th in 29-person field.

Action at the PSAC Championships continues tomorrow at Cumberland Valley.
