Baseball falls to host Apprentice School at Builder Invitational
 

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (0-4) fell to host Apprentice School (4-2) 22-11 today on day three of the Builder Invitational in Newport News, Va.

Five different Bald Eagles had multiple hit games as their 11 runs came off 18 hits.

Leading the way the plate for LHU was Matt Palko (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area), who was 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. He had one triple and for the second consecutive game drilled one out of the park.

Evan Petro (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) went 3-for-5 with a run scored.

Zach Schuler (Mt. Wolf, Pa./Spring Grove), Mark Strouse (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) and Ted Stake (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) all had two-hit games for LHU.

Bobby Fiala (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Everglades) got the start on the mound for the Bald Eagles and put in four innings of work. He gave up seven hits and allowed seven runs, five of which were earned. Fiala walked five and struck out two.

Tyler Golden (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone) came in for relief and went 4.1 innings. He recorded five strikeouts.

The Bald Eagles are back in action tomorrow (Sunday, Feb. 22) at the Builder Invitational. LHU will take the field at 9 a.m. for rematch with the host Apprentice School.
