The Lady Eagles turned in a sensational outing today at the PSAC Championships.

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swim team turned in one of its best outings in recent memory as the Lady Eagles were sensational on day three at the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming Championships.
After tonight’s competition LHU was in ninth overall with 101 points.
LHU coach Andy Waeger called today’s performance one the best in a long time.
Leading the way was sophomore Amanda Terray (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley), who placed second in the 100 backstroke with a very impressive time of 57.57.
Junior Amanda Palmer (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) also had a huge day for The Haven.
In this morning’s prelims, Palmer smashed the school record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:43.99.
Palmer came back to take eighth in tonight’s 400 IM finals with a time of 4:45.71.
Lock Haven’s 800 freestyle relay also turned in a strong performance. Lock Haven’s foursome finished in eighth place with a school-record time of 8:01.33.
The PSAC Championships kicked off Thursday night at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pa. and are being hosted by California (Pa.) University. The meet runs until through tomorrow.
After Friday night’s competition the Lady Eagles were ninth overall with 41 points.
Lock Haven’s 41 points came by way of two solid relay performances and a ninth-place finish by Terray.
Terry took ninth overall in the 50 yard freestyle with a NCAA Division II “B” cut time of 24.42.
The Haven got 32 team-points from its 200 yard freestyle and 400 IM relay teams.
LHU was 10th in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.90 and the Lady Eagles foursome placed ninth in the 400 IM relay with a time of 4:07.38
Kicking off competition at the conference championships on Thursday night was freshman Kasey Campbell (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy), who was the only Lady Eagle to hit the pool and she made her swim a memorable one. Competing in the 1,000 yard freestyle, Campbell broke The Haven’s second-oldest school record with a time of 10:57.12. Campbell finished 18th in 29-person field.
Action at the PSAC Championships wraps up tomorrow at Cumberland Valley High School.
