LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s basketball team (5-22, 3-11 PSAC West) and its bid for an upset of No. 6 Gannon University (24-3, 10-2 PSAC West) fell short 88-80 this afternoon inside Thomas Fieldhouse in the Bald Eagles thrilling regular-season finale.

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest pitted the upset-minded Bald Eagles and one of the nations’ elite teams in NCAA Division II and the game didn’t disappoint.

The Haven fought back from double-digit deficits several times throughout the game, but was unable to cut the Gannon-lead under six points in the final four minutes of the second half.

Lock Haven had five players in double figures in the scoring column during the game.

Senior Billy Arre ( Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) capped off his career with another solid game, as he scored a double-double in his final game in a Bald Eagle uniform. He led all Haven scorers with a team-high 17 points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

Fellow senior Kelvin McClean (Newport, Va./Heritage) had another strong showing as he closed in on a double-double in the loss. He knocked down 17 points, grabbed seven boards and dished out five assists.

Andres Carpio (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon) came in off the bench and provided a spark the Bald Eagles needed by hitting 5-of-6 from beyond the arc and added a total of 19 points and six assists.

Eric Brennan (Chester, Pa./West Catholic-Philadelphia) and Warren Christian (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville C.C.) each had a strong showings inside for Lock Haven.

Brennan scored 13 points, added four boards and dished out three assists and Christian had 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Gannon was led by five players in double figures this afternoon and was led by Kyle Goldencamp and his game-high 27 points.
