Baseball splits with Assumption in final action of Spring Break trip to Florida
 

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (4-12) split a doubleheader this afternoon against Assumption College (3-1) in the last two games of the Bald Eagels spring trip to White Haven, Florida.

Bald Eagle pitcher Jordan Yohn (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) picked up the complete game win as Lock Haven took game one 4 to 1. Yohn gave up one earned off of three hits and struck out seven in the win. He only gave one free pass to Greyhound base runners.

A trio of Bald Eagle hitters had a strong day at the plate.

Evan Petro (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and one run scored. Matt Palko (Freeland, Pa./Hazelton Area) went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s and had homerun in the win. Matt McCamley (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) also went 2-for-3.

Catcher Ted Stake (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) did not fair as well as his teammates as he was hit by a pitch three time in game one.

Lock Haven less luck in game two as they could not get the bats going dropping the game 7-to-4.

Tyler Rumsey (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield) went five and a third innings on the mound as the Greyhounds got their seven runs off of six hits.

Brian Kochik (Snow Shoe, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) came in relieve Rumsey and go the rest of the way on the mound.

The Bald Eagles return to action on Friday, March 13 when they travel to play IUP in a natural site showdown at Johnstown’s historical Point Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m
