GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The No. 19 Lock Haven University softball (10-4) picked up two big wins today at the Glenville State College Tournament.
Although the rain delayed that action at times, it couldn’t stop the Lady Eagles bats as they downed Ohio Valley 21-1 and shutout Charleston 9-0.
Sarah Norris (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and Amanda Gutmaker (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Northeast) both drilled grand slams in the win over Ohio Valley.
Catcher Amanda Roosa (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) also homered for LHU.
Kristin Erb (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) was solid in the circle for LHU and got the win for The Haven.
Lock Haven’s 21 runs came off nine hits.
In game two of the day LHU took down Charleston 9-0.
Erb got the win as she threw a one-hitter, while striking out six.
The Lady Eagles nine runs came off 11 hits.
Roosa led the way the plate in game two as she went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs.
Ilia Lopez (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) was solid at the plate with a 2-for-2 performance. She scored two runs, had one RBI and a stolen base.
Glenville is hosting a 16 team West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVICA)/Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover Tournament that kicked off yesterday and runs until tomorrow.
The Lady Eagles are back in action tomorrow (Sunday, March 15) at noon when the face Seton Hill.
