LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – On Saturday, March 28, the Lock Haven University Department of Athletics and the Lady Eagle lacrosse team will honor a special group of women, as The Haven welcomes back the 1979 National Championship team.
2009 is a historic year for Lock Haven, as it marks the 30th anniversary of Lock Haven’s only women’s lacrosse National Championship. The Lady Eagles won the 1979 United States Women’s Lacrosse Association Division II National Championship.
On Saturday, LHU, ranked fifth nationally plays host to East Stroudsburg at 1 p.m. on Charlotte E. Smith Field.
There will be a ceremony during halftime of the game and a reception will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center on the campus of LHU.
