Morse named PSAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Year

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Senior Chelsea Morse (Beaver Dams, N.Y./Campbell-Savona) of the Lock Haven University women’s indoor track & field team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women’s Field Athlete of the Year following a sensational season for the Lady Eagles.

Most recently, Morse earned All-Americans status for the fourth time in her career after taking third in the high jump at the NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships in Houston.

Morse also claimed the high jump title at the PSAC Championships.

At the conference championship meet Morse added a fourth-place showing in the long jump to help The Haven women take third overall in the team race.

Morse is the PSAC Indoor Championship record holder in the high jump and she was the PSAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Year in 2008, following the outdoor season.

Morse, who has been a runner-up at the NCAA Championships on three separate occasions, will be looking for that elusive National Title this spring, as she look to close out her already remarkable Haven career in a big way.
