BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The No. 6 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (12-2) cruised past host-Bloomsburg University (8-4) 19-11 today in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action.
Bloom went up 1-0 early, taking the lead less than a minute into the contest.
Lock Haven responded in a big way and the Lady Eagles rallied off four straight goals to take the 4-1 lead.
The Haven’s early 3-goal lead paved the way for a lopsided 14-3 halftime advantage.
LHU got a total team effort on defense and the offence provided the spark to get it done, as Lock Haven cruised.
Seven different Lady Eagles scored, including freshman Kayleigh Johnson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport), who recorded an eight-point day.
Johnson scored six goals and set up a pair with two assists.
Junior Leigh Titus (Towaco, N.J./Montville) tallied six points with four goals and two assists.
Sophomore Jamie Uzialko (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) netted the hat trick to help fuel the offense.
Rookie goalie Heather Sacko (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) made 18 saves in the win.
The Lady Eagles return to action on Thursday, April 16 at 4 p.m. when they travel to No. 4 Mercyhurst College for a critical PSAC West clash. LHU is 5-1 in Western Division action.
