LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s and women’s track & field team turned in a very solid two days of competition at Bucknell University’s Bison Open.
The Haven kicked off competition on Friday night with some sensational performances from a cast of Bald and Lady Eagles.
The Haven turned in a list of school records and NCAA Division II qualifying marks.
Topping a list of sensational performance’s on Friday night was Randy Sylvia (Johnstown, Pa./Richland), who took second overall in the men’s hammer throw. Sylvia hit a mark of 179-01, which shattered the previous school record. The mark of 179-01 is also a NCAA D-II mark.
Nick Hilton (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) turned in a sixth-place finish in the 3K steeplechase with a time of 9:14.60. Hilton’s time is a NCAA mark.
Brandon Pomerantz (Holland, Pa./Council Rock North) turned in a strong performance in the 1,500 meter invite with a time of 3:53.31. Pomerantz was 11th overall in the deep field and his time marks a NCAA qualifying time.
The Lady Eagles also got into the action and several Haven women came up big at Bucknell.
Chelseas Morse (Beaver Dams, N.Y./Campbell-Savona) finished in a tie for first place in the women’s high jump with NCAA mark of 5’7”.
Lindsey Lambert (Howell, N.J./Howell) finished sixth in the women’s 5K with a time of 17:21.53. Lambert’s time smashed the Lock Haven school record and hit a NCAA qualifying mark.
Alexis Patrick (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) broke a school record in the steeplechase with a time of 11:53.2.
Lock Haven resumed action yesterday morning and the trend of strong performances continued for The Haven men and women.
