BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The No. 5 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (13-3) dropped an away game 18-13 at No. 2 C.W Post (12-1) this afternoon in Brookeville, N.Y.
The Lady Eagles were coming off a huge win on Thursday night, after they downed No. 3 Mercyhurst on the road.
Lock Haven took the early lead today, going up 1-0 less than two minutes in on a goal by Clare Gaeng (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Jefferson).
Kayleigh Johnson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) was a huge key for LHU today and she came up big for The Haven. She recorded a team-best five points.
Johnson netted a team-high four goals and tallied one assist.
Leigh Titus (Towaco, N.J./Montville) had another solid outing, as she normally does in big games.
Titus helped keep LHU in the game with a three-goal effort.
Elyse Fisher (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) also recorded the hat trick.
Jamie Uzialko (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) led LHU with a two-assist game.
Heather Sacko (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) played all 60 minutes in net and made nine saves for LHU.
Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. when the Lady Eagles play host to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division foe Gannon University, ranked sixth nationally. The game marks Lock Haven’s 2009 regular season finale and the game will be a huge one for both teams, as it holds major playoff implications.
