7 Lady Eagles earn All-PSAC Central Softball honors; Erb, Norris & Green sweep all three major PSAC Central awards

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Seven members of the No. 2 Lock Haven University softball team earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division honors and the Lady Eagles swept all three major awards, as they took home Pitcher, Player and Coach of the Year awards.

The Lady Eagles, ranked number-two nationally are enjoying another sensational season thus far, but have a lot of softball yet to play.

Leading the way was Kristin Erb (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township), The Haven’s senior ace, who was named Conference Pitcher of the Year for the fourth straight season.

Senior Sarah Norris (West Chester, Pa./West Chester) was named PSAC Central Player of the Year and LHU head coach Kelley Green was named PSAC Central Coach of the Year.

Norris makes it three straight years for a Lock Haven player, as a Divisional Player of the Year, but the first in the newly-formed PSAC Central. She follows teammate Amanda Roose (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) and Ilia Lopez (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg), both of whom are first team selections this year and both of which were the PSAC West Players of the Year the last two respective seasons.

It marks the fifth straight coach of the year honor for Green, who was named PSAC West Coach of the year the last four seasons.

Joining Erb (P – Pitcher of the Year), Norris (3B – Player of the Year), Roosa (C) and Lopez (SS) on the PSAC Central First Team was Amanda Gutmaker (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Northeast), who was earned a First Team spot at second base.

Brittany Muthard (Northhampton, Pa./Northampton) and Nancy O’Connor (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) both earned spots on the PSAC Central Second Team.

Muthard earned a spot as designated player/utility and O’Connor earned a spot in the outfield.

Erb earned PSAC Pitcher of the Year honors in her respective division for the fourth straight time. She is currently 43-4 with a 0.45 ERA.

Earlier this season, she became the all-time Division II wins leader and is just two shutouts away from tying the all-time NCAA mark in that category.

Norris turned in all-around effort for Lock Haven thus far, combing solid defense at the hot corner with clutch hitting.

Norris, The Haven’s career home run leader has 13 on the year. She’s hitting .353 with a .679 slugging-percentage. Norris has driven in 32 runs on the year.

Green helped Lock Haven to a 44-5 marks thus far. The Lady Eagles went 15-1 in PSAC Central Play, clinching the PSAC Central Regular Season crown.

The Haven won its fourth straight PSAC Championship and most recently won the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region 1 First Round Championship.

The Lady Eagles are back in action on Friday May 15, when they host Kutztown in Atlantic Region Super Regional. The winner will advance to the College World Series.
