SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Lock Haven University men’s and women’s outdoor track & field team was in action today, on Day 2 at the 2009 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at San Angelo State University.
The meet kicked off yesterday and runs until Saturday, May 23 at the LeGrand Sports Complex in San Angelo, Texas.
Senior Shala Simms (Ardmore, Pa./Upper Darby) led the way today for the Lady Eagles, as she broke the school record at 800 meters with a time of 2:12.50.
Simms failed to qualify for the finals, but the prelim race will be a memorable one, as she set the school record in her final race in crimson and white.
Leading the way for LHU yesterday was sophomore Nick Hilton (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township), who qualified for the finals of 3K steeplechase. Hilton ran 9:21.48 in the prelims.
Lock Haven is back at it tomorrow.
