SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Lock Haven University men’s and women’s outdoor track & field wrapped up competition today at the 2009 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at San Angelo State University.
The meet kicked off Thursday at the LeGrand Sports Complex in San Angelo, Texas.
Yesterday, it was senior Shala Simms (Ardmore, Pa./Upper Darby) leading the way for the Lady Eagles, as she broke the school record at 800 meters with a time of 2:12.50.
Simms failed to qualify for the finals, but the prelim race will be a memorable one, as she set the school record in her final race in crimson and white.
Leading the way for LHU on Thursday was sophomore Nick Hilton (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township), who qualified for the finals of 3K steeplechase. Hilton ran 9:21.48 in the prelims to get into today’s final.
Hilton finished 10th in today’s finals.
Lock Haven is back at it tomorrow.
