LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s and women’s outdoor track & field team hosted the LHU Qualifier yesterday (Saturday, May 2) and both teams turned in some notable performances in The Haven’s final tune-up before the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships.
Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was senior Chelsea Morse (Beaver Dams, N.Y./Campbell Savona), who looked comfortable on her home turf and took home the title in the women’s high jump event. She also added a fourth-place showing in the long jump.
The Bald Eagles were led by a 1-2-3 finish in the 1,500 meter run and saw a number of sensational times posted by their spring corps.
Chris Edelman (Elverson, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) also had a big day for Lock Haven with a second-place finish in the 400 meter dash. His time of 47.18 was good enough for a school record.
The Haven track & field program also took time to honor its graduating seniors, whom were competing at Hubert Jack Stadium for the final time.
Both the Bald and Lady Eagles return to action next week at the PSAC Championships meet. The meet kicks off on Thursday, May 7 and runs until Saturday, May 9 at Millersville University.
