LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s soccer team has announced its 2009 recruiting class.
LHU head coach Doug Moore and his perennial strong Bald Eagles will welcome four players to The Haven.
Joining The Bald Eagles will be Wesley “Hunter” Stem (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock), David Qaisi (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley), Nick Lombardo (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) and Steve Kretzer (Warfordsburg, Pa./Smithsburg - Md.).
Stem, who captained his high school squad to a Pennsylvania State Championship, brings size and strength to the lineup. At 6-feet-2-inches, he could play anywhere along the back or in the midfield.
Qaisi is what Moore calls a utility to player, who could play a number of positions. Moore calls him big and powerful.
Lombardo comes to LHU highly recommended and a pure-athlete, according to Moore.
Kretzer will bring tremendous speed to Moore’s lineup and could see time on the wing early in his career.
The four make up Lock Haven’s class of 2013 and a will look to make in immediate impact on the field for the Bald Eagles.
Moore feels that that the foursome will help make major contributions for the traditionally strong Bald Eagles, who will be looking for their 21st conference crown when the season kicks off next month.
