Former men’s soccer standout named new graduate assistant coach for Bald Eagles

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Phil Liversedge, a former Lock Haven University men’s soccer standout has been named the new graduate assistant coach.

Liversedge, who recently graduated (May 2009) from Lock Haven with a degree in Health and Physical Education rejoins the program after a very respectful two-year career.

Liversedge, a dominate presence on the field for The Haven joined the Bald Eagles prior to the 2006 season after two years at Texas A&M International.

He was a two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) selection as a defender. During the 2006 season he started all 24 games for head coach Doug Moore. In '07 Liversedge started all 18 games he played in.

“I’m very excited to be back with team,” Liversedge said. “I hope I can use all my experience to help the team. If I can’t be out there with them this is the next best thing and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Moore is also pleased to have Liversedge back with the team.

“The players respect him very much and can relate to him,” Moore said. “I think he’ll settle in just fine and do quite well for us.”

Also joining Moore and Liversedge on the sidelines will be former player Leadopoe Geain, who capped off his playing career last fall. Over four years, Geain played in 33 games and scored six goals.
