LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (3-1) was dominant today in it’s 2009 home-opener as the Lady Eagles cruised past Vermont (0-4) 3-0.
The Lady Eagles got goals from three different players and outshot Vermont 18-1 on the way to the win.
Lock Haven goalkeeper Erin Terreson (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) was only forced to make on stop during her 70 minutes of action.
Suzann Hobart (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) opened the scoring in the 29th minute of play.
Less than two minutes before halftime Hobart made a perfect pass to Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights), who put Lock Haven up 2-0.
The Lady Eagles took the 2-0 lead into the break and Mary Keister (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) added an insurance goal in the 44th minute of action.
Keister’s goal was set up by Alanna Lewis (Trinidad & Tobago/Southeast Port-of-Spain).
The Lady Eagles return to action on Saturday, September 12 at noon when they travel to Cornell for a non-conference match.
