LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The second athlete in a series of our getting to know you features is Ashley Rosindale. The explosive scorer returns to the Bald Eagles squad following last year’s NSCAA Adidas All-Northeast Region First Team selection. Rosindale was also a first team All-PSAC selection last season. In 2004, Rosindale was chosen as the PSAC Championship MVP after scoring a goal and assisting in another in the title clinching victory of West Chester. During the same season Ash also scored an amazing first half hat trick in a 9-0 victory over Concordia. During the soccer playing days of his youth in England, he played for the Bradford School of Boys. Rosindale, 21, is the son of Craig and Liz Rosindale and is a Recreation Management major.
1. What is your favorite class and why?
- Camp counseling with Dr. Walsh. I always had a great laugh in the class, and learned a lot of useful information for my future.
2. To date, what has been the highlight of your Lock Haven career?
- Winning the PSAC title in 2004 , which was my freshman year. It was a great moment.
3. Is there any one player who you modeled your game after?
- There was never one particular player who I modeled my game after, but growing up it was the players who were the most creative and played with flair that I wanted to emulate.
4. Who has been your biggest non-sports role model and why?
- I’m going to have to say my parents on this one, definitely my Mum and Dad
5. Do you have any pre-game rituals? What are they?
- When dressing for a game I always follow a routine. It starts with me putting on my right shin guard, then my left. Then I put on my right sock, followed by my left, and I finish by putting on my right boot then left boot.
6. What is the best advice that you have ever been given and who gave it to you?
- To always prefer to regret something I did rather than something I didn’t. That’s advice from my Mum, and it’s great advice in relation to making decisions, mainly the decision to come to America and LHU to study and play soccer from my native England.
7. What CD do you have in your collection or song in your iPod that would surprise people?
- Marvin Gaye, you’ve got to love Marvin haven’t you?
8. If a movie was made about your life, who would star as you?
- Jude Law would be me.
9. When your soccer career is over, what do you see yourself doing?
- I don’t plan on my career being over anytime soon, but when it is, I want to coach soccer and give something back to the sport that I love.
10. Describe what it feels like on game day and playing at McCollum Field
- Simply electric. In my time here, we have always had good support and I know myself and my teammates are very thankful for that. McCollum Field holds so much history and great memories and it is an honor to have been a part of it.
