CLARION, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s soccer team (3-5, 2-5 PSAC West) blanked host-Clarion University (3-7, 0-7 PSAC West) 1-0 today in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division match.
The win marked the second straight for the Lady Eagles.
Lock Haven posted the only goal of the match in the 56th minute as The Haven was able to earn the all-important division road win.
Carly D’Orsaneo (Elverson, Pa./Living Word Academy) was credited with the game-winner after an Alissa Gamelier (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) shot deflected off her and into the net, beating Clarion’s goalkeeper.
Gamelier and Caitlyn Slattery (Williamsport, Pa./UMBC) were credited with assists.
LHU goalkeepers Hayley Zinn (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) and Kim Bentley (Springdale, Pa./Springdale) both played a half in net and each made two stops.
Slattery turned in an all-around solid outing, playing both in the back and in the midfield for Lock Haven.
Defender Jessie Cox (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) helped lead the Lady Eagles efforts today on the way to the win.
Lock Haven returns to action on Saturday, September 26 at 2 p.m. on the road at East Stroudsburg University.
