LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (11-4, 1-0 PSAC East) cruised past visiting West Chester University (8-5, 0-1 PSAC East) 3-0 tonight in Thomas Fieldhouse in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division opener for both teams.

The Lady Eagles won 25-23, 25-18 & 25-15.

Leading the way for LHU was Xuan Gao (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School), who had a match-high 16 kills.

Haley Gribler (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy-Liberty) wasn’t far off Xuan’s torrid pace and turned in 14 kills.

The duo of Xuan and Gribler couldn’t be slowed by the Golden Rams as they hit .517 and .500, respectively.

Fabiana Gomez (Montevideo, Uruguay/Consejo de E.S.) turned in a 38-assist effort. She also recorded a team-high 19 digs.

In the third set, Lock Haven recorded 18 kills and only one error for a team hitting percentage of .586.

Lock Haven is right back at in tomorrow at 7 p.m. when the Lady Eagles play host to Kutztown University in PSAC East action.
