LOUNDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (11-3, 2-0 NEC), cruised passed Northeast Conference (NEC) opponent Siena College (2-9, 0-2 NEC) 5-0 today with the help of junior-forward Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine).
Hordendorf had an impressive day finding the back of the net four times. She now leads the team in goals with 16 on the season.
LHU’s Kristi Shepps (Willow Street, Pa./Penn Manor) opened all scoring in the ninth minute of play off a Suzann Hobart (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) assist.
A few minutes before halftime, Hordendorf scored the first of her four goals.
Hordendorf continued to find the back of the net in the second half with the help of her teammates.
Assisting on Hordendorf’s three second half tallies were Emma Wessner (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown), Alanna Lewis (Trinidad & Tobago/Southeast Port-of-Spain), and Hobart, who finished with two helpers on the afternoon.
LHU goalkeeper Erin Terreson (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) captured her fourth shutout of the season after making two saves.
Lock Haven’s potent offense continued to dominate their opponents out-shooting Siena 30-3.
This win marks the Lady Eagle’s 26th straight NEC victory.
The Haven is now a stellar 38-2 all-time in NEC action.
The Lady Eagles return to action on Sunday (October 11) afternoon at 1 p.m. when they travel to conference opponent Bryant.
