EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (18-4, 5-0 PSAC East) won its 10th straight match after the Lady Eagles downed host East Stroudsburg University 3-0 (25-15, 25-18 & 25-13) tonight in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action.
Christie Naumann (Charters Towers, Australia/Gladstone), who was named PSAC East Player of the Week today for her stellar play last week continued that trend with another all-around tremendous effort.
Naumann had a team-high 13 kills and also recorded 14 digs. A huge key tonight for the Lady Eagles was Naumann’s match-high seven aces, as ESU had no answer for her potent jump serve.
Haley Gribler (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy-Liberty) had 11 kills and hit .526. She also chipped in with 11 digs.
Fabiana Gomez (Montevideo, Uruguay/Consejo de E.S.) was solid for LHU and tallied a team-high 18 digs. She also had a match-high 34 assists to go along with two block assists.
Christina Laury (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) chipped in with 11 digs.
Kim Windstein (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) and Xuan Gao (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) added five and four kills, respectively.
The Lady Eagles return to action this Friday at 1 p.m. when they play host to Cheyney in doubleheader action. Following the Cheyney match Lock Haven’s Bob Chu Invitational kicks off with action running Friday to Saturday.
