Bald Eagles fall to IUP
 

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University football team (0-7, 0-5 PSAC West) was downed by visiting IUP (4-4, 1-4 PSAC West) 45-0 this afternoon at Hubert Jack Stadium.

Despite unseasonably cold temperatures and a slight drizzle at times, IUP’s offense was firing on all cylinders and the Crimson Hawks jumped out to a commanding 35-0 halftime lead.

IUP led 14-0 after the opening frame and after a scoreless third quarter, Indiana tacked on 10 fourth-quarter points.

328 of IUP’s 390 total yards came on the ground, as the Crimson Hawks were led by Harvie Tuck, who racked up 218 rushing yards by himself.

Tuck scored two touchdowns, including the game’s first score with 4:14 to go in the opening quarter.

Defensively, Lock Haven got a game-high eight tackles from Tyree Pompey (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom). Five of his eight stops were solo efforts and he made one interception.

Wes Plummer (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) hade seven stops.

Luke Ellison (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) made five tackles, including two for a loss.

Five other Bald Eagles had five tackles for The Haven.

Guy Clark (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) showed his athleticism for LHU. The freshman made two tackle and had one interception, while also adding four punts for 88 yards in the second half.

The Bald Eagles return to action next Saturday, October 25 at Gannon. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
