Hilton named PSAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for second time this season

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the second time this season, junior Nick Hilton (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) of the No. 16 Lock Haven University men’s cross country team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after a tremendous individual effort on Friday afternoon.

Hilton had a huge race at the Penn State Nationals, which were run at LHU because of inclement weather and poor course conditions at PSU on Friday afternoon.

Hilton took fifth overall and was the third collegiate finisher in a 130-runner field absolutely loaded in talent, including several top Division I and post-collegiate runners. He covered the 8K course in 25:14.

The Bald Eagles took fourth overall in the 11-team field and were the top PSAC school, thanks to Hilton’s effort. Hilton was the top PSAC individual finisher as well.

This is the second time this year Hilton has been named Runner of the Week and it marks the third time a Bald Eagle harrier has taken home the honor on the year.

Hilton and the rest of the Bald Eagles are back in action on Saturday, October 24 when they travel to the Elizabeth Invitational.
