LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s soccer team (3-11-1, 2-8-1 PSAC West) dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West match this afternoon, as the Lady Eagles fell to visiting IUP (11-3-1, 8-2-1 PSAC West) 2-1.
After a hard-fought and scoreless first half, Lock Haven went up 1-0 in the 65th minute on Amy Wittman (Delmont, Pa./Franklin Regional) goal.
Wittman took a perfect through ball into the box from Alissa Gamelier (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) and tucked it far post for the game’s first tally.
Just a 1:10 later IUP found the equalizer and knotted the match at 1-1.
In the 70th minute the Crimson Hawks struck again and made it 2-1.
Hayley Zinn (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) made four saves in the game for the Lady Eagles.
Lock Haven pushed late looking for the tying goal, but couldn’t sneak a second past IUP keeper Kelley Brennan.
The Lady Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 24 at 1 p.m. when they host No. 21 California (Pa.) University.
