LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the seventh consecutive week, a member of the Lock Haven University volleyball team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Volleyball Player of the Week.
This week it was sophomore outside hitter Haley Gribler (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy-Liberty), who takes home her second Player of the Week honor in three weeks.
The Lady Eagles are on a 16-match win streak, thanks in large part to the tremendous play of Gribler, who helped lead LHU to a 6-0 week, last week.
Gribler played in four matches for Lock Haven and racked up a team-high 59 kills, while hitting a sizzling .451.
She averaged 15 kills-per-match and her best performance was a 22-kill effort in a 3-1 win over a tough Queen’s College (Canada) squad. Against Queen’s Gribler hit a scorching .600 to lead LHU to the win.
She added 17 kills in a 3-1 win over Alderson Broaddus and averaged 4.21 kills-per-game over the four-match span.
Over the week Gribler also added 51 digs, 11 aces and six blocks.
Gribler and the Lady Eagles return to action on Friday, October 23 at 7 p.m. on the road at Kutztown.
