Men’s Soccer edged at home by rival Cal

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s soccer team (5-10-2, 1-7 PSAC West) was edged 2-1 today at home by rival California (Pa.) University (6-6-1, 2-3-1 PSAC West).

The Bald Eagles went up 1-0 just 7:30 in after Billy Pasukinis (Benton, Pa./Benton) sent a Zach Miller (Girard, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) pass far post from 10 yards out.

LHU took its 1-0 lead into the locker room, but the Vulcans found an equalizer early in the second half of play.

Nick Helbig knocked home a rebound in the 47th minute to knot the match at 1-1.

Cal scored the eventual game-winner in the 80th minute of play.

Both Chris Custer (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) and Chad Badorf (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) saw time between the posts for the Bald Eagles.

Custer got the start and made three saves, while Badorf played most of the second half and stopped three Vulcan shots.

The Bald Eagles return to action on Thursday, October 29 at 2 p.m. when they travel to the University of the District of Columbia.
