SOMERSET, N.J. – Senior Mary Keister (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) of the Lock Haven University field hockey team has been named Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week for her recent efforts in leading the Lady Eagles to a perfect 2-0 week.
Keister played a huge role in helping LHU go 2-0 last week, with both wins coming in NEC action.
With the two wins, the Lady Eagles extended their unbeaten streak to 13 matches and remained perfect in conference action with a 7-0 mark.
In a 3-1 win over Sacred Heart on Friday, Keister played a role in all three goals. With the game knotted at 1-1, Keister converted a penalty corner in the 62nd minute and the goal proved to be the eventual game-winner. She assisted LHU’s first and third goals of the match to round out the four-point outing.
She capped off the week with a goal in yesterday’s 5-1 win at Monmouth.
Over the two-game span, Keister recorded a team-best six points.
Keister and the Lady Eagles return to action on the road at Rider on Sunday, November 1 at noon.
