WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Lock Haven University men’s soccer team (6-10-2) got two goals from Greg Shertzer (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest), which helped the Bald Eagles shutout the University of the District of Columbia (2-12-1) 3-0 on the road today in non-conference action.
Shertzer scored in the 13th and 32nd minutes to help lead LHU past DC.
The Haven netted all three of its goals in the opening half of play.
Mark Auman (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) scored LHU’s third goal of the match in the 43rd minute.
Shertzer put Lock Haven up 1-0 just 12:10 and the Bald Eagles never looked back as they picked up the important road win.
Goalkeepers Chris Custer (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) and Chad Badorf (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) each played a half in net. Custer made three saves while Badorf added two as the duo combined for the shutout.
The Bald Eagles return home on Saturday, October 31 at 6 p.m. when they play host to Alderson Broaddus in The Haven’s 2009 season-finale.
