Swimming soars past Mansfield 109-66
 

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swim team (3-1) soared past Mansfield University 109-66 today in Zimmerli Pool.

The Lady Eagles were led by 1-2 finishes in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events and freshman Brittany Rehrig (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) hit conference qualifying marks in two events to headline the dual meet today.

Rehrig hit Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks in the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke events. Her time of 2:18.07 in the 200 IM was the fourth fastest time in school history. Rehrig’s time of 2:34.22 in the 200 breaststroke was the third fastest time in LHU history.

Allison Schaefer (Allentown, N.J./Hamilton East) competed in the 1,000 freestyle for the first time in her career, but that didn’t stop her from swimming to a first-place finish with a time of 11:57.26.

Sophomore Sam Durham (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) and Kasey Campbell (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) went 1-2 in the 200 freestyle with times of 2:06.49 and 2:06.59, respectively.

The Lady Eagles went 1-2 in the 50 free with Jenna Brooks (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) and Rachel Vagnoni (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) leading the way with marks of 26.48 and 26.77, respectively.

Durham and Brittany Williams (North East, Pa./North East) went 1-2 in the 100 freestyle with times of 57.31 and 59.11, respectively.

Senior Amanda Palmer (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) was first in the 200 butterfly with a very solid time of 2:23.17.

The Lady Eagles return to the pool on Friday, November 6 at 7 p.m. at East Stroudsburg.
