LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (30-4, 17-2 PSAC) closed out the regular season with its 22nd straight win, as the Lady Eagles cruised past visiting East Stroudsburg University 3-0 (25-15, 25-14 & 25-14).
Xuan Gao (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) and Christie Naumann (Charters Towers, Austrailia/Gladstone) led Lock Haven offensively, as the duo knocked down nine and eight kills, respectively.
Xuan, the reigning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Volleyball Player of the Week hit a sizzling .571.
Naumann also had seven digs and a team-high three aces.
Christina Laury (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) led Lock Haven with 14 digs.
Fabiana Gomez (Montevideo, Uruguary/Consejo de E.S.) had another tremendous match and tallied a match-high 34 assists. She also had 11 digs.
Kim Windstein (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) added six kills and two blocks to help The Haven’s effort in the win.
Lock Haven got solid all-around hitting, as the Lady Eagles collectively hit .500 in game one and .476 in game two.
Lock Haven returns to action a week from today (Tuesday, November 10) at 7 p.m. when they host a PSAC Playoff opening round match with the opponent yet to be determined.
