LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Alanna Lewis (Trinidad and Tobago/Southeast Port-of-Spain), Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) and Suzann Hobart (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) of the Lock Haven University field hockey all earned 2009 All-Northeast Conference (NEC) First Team honors for their efforts in leading the Lady Eagles to another successful regular season.

Lewis, a senior was also named NEC Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season and Hordendorf, who led the NEC in goals and total points during the regular season, was tabbed as the Offensive Player of the Year.

Lewis, the Lady Eagles on-field leader helped lead Lock Haven’s stingy defensive unit that allowed only three goals in NEC regular season play. On the year LHU only gave up 19 total goals.

Lewis was also a key on The Haven’s penalty corners. During the regular season, she scored four goals and assisted six others.

Hordendorf led Lock Haven’s potent offensive attack that outscored opponents 61-19. The junior-forward scored a team and conference-best 22 goals. Hordendorf also had four assists for a conference-high 48 total points.

On the year, Hordendorf notched five game-winning tallies and had five multiple-goal games, including a season-high four goals against Siena.

Hobart was Hordendorf’s partner in crime and scored 10 goals to go along with seven assists (27 points).

Hobart scored three game-winning goals and had two, two-goal performances on the year, as she proved to a major threat on Lock Haven’s attack.

The Lady Eagles are in action tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 6) at 1:30 p.m. when they take part in NEC Semifinal action. The two-seeded Lady Eagles are set to take on No. 3 Quinnipiac.
