Bald Eagles Fall to Golden Rams

Colin Callaghan picked up an assist on the Bald Eagles goal

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University men’s soccer team (9-5, 8-4 PSAC) fell to visiting West Chester University (8-8, 7-6 PSA) 2-1 today on McCollum Field in a physical Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match up.

The Bald Eagles struck first as senior midfielder Adam Wolf (Telford, Pa./Souderton) put the Haven up 1-0 on a beautiful strike.

Ashley Rosindale (Bradford, England/Beckfoot School) was working hard down the right side of the WCU goal where he was able to cut a ball back to Kevin McCune (Butler, Pa./Butler), who was pushing forward from his back position. McCune played a strong ball in toward goal and Colin Callaghan (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) made every effort for it flicking it on left to an open Wolf.

Wolf took the ball off his chest and volleyed it into the upper left corner past West Chester goalie Garret Santora.

The Bald Eagles would take the 1-0 lead into the break after a hard fought 45 minutes of action.

WCU knotted the game at 1-1 in the 56th minute and 3:28 later the Golden Rams took the lead after scoring their second goal of the game.

LHU pressed late and created several strong opportunities, but the Haven couldn’t finish as time ran down.

Senior Chad Feerrar (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) made one save after playing all 90 minute in net.

The Bald Eagles are back in action on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. when they play host to Millersville University in PSAC action.
