Arre has been named a pre-season All-American canidate for the upcoming season

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Junior Billy Arre of the Lock Haven University men’s basketball team has been named a Honorable Mention Pre-Season All-American by The Sporting News 2007-08 College Basketball magazine.
Last season Arre certainly made a name for himself in just his second year with the Bald Eagles.
In 2006-07 he was named to the 2007 Division II Bulletin Honorable Mention All-American Team.
Arre was also honored by earning a spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Second Team All-East Region squad for his efforts last year in leading the Haven.
Also named the 2007 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West player of the year and earning a spot on the Daktronics Division II All-East Region Second Team, Arre lead the Bald Eagles to their most wins since winning 12 in 1995-96.
In just two seasons with the Bald Eagles, Arre was able to net an impressive 1,079 points reaching the 1,000 career point plateau in an upset of California (Pa.) University back on February 10, 2007.
Arre led the Haven in points, averaging 21.8 points per game, which is also the best in the PSAC last season. He led the team in rebounds with 6.8, which ranked as ninth-best in the conference.
Last season the Pittsburgh native started all 27 games for the Bald Eagles, averaging 35.7 minutes a game. He led Lock Haven in scoring in 20 of 27 games and scored 20 plus points 16 times. He reached the 30-point mark four times, netting double-figures in points in every game this season.
On the season Arre shot 48 percent from the field including 38 percent from three-point range and 80 percent from the free-throw line. His 38 percent from downtown ranked as 12th-best in the conference and his 80 percent average from the charity stripe was fourth-best in 2006-07.
Arre recorded five double-doubles on the year and dropped a season-high 35 points against Kutztown University. He pulled in a season-high 14 rebounds against Shepherd University and grabbed 12 boards on two separate occasions.
The Bald Eagles kick off their 2007-08 campaign on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. on the road against Division I Youngstown State University.
