C.W. Post spoils Lock Haven’s home opener with 90-57 win

Tyrone Palmer led the Bald Eagles with 16 points in their 90-57 loss to C.W. Post

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the second night in a row, the Lock Haven University Men’s Basketball team fell in out of conference action. This time it was C.W. Post University spoiling LHU’s home opener by downing the Bald Eagles by a 90-57 score.

C.W. Post got on top of Lock Haven early and would never look back as the Bald Eagles have struggled in the first two games out of the gate as tonight they shot an ice cold 25% in the first half.

C.W. Post took a 47-20 lead into the intermission as they dominated the first twenty minutes of play with a fast paced game playing into their hands.

The Bald Eagle offensive attack showed mark improvement in half number two as they shot a strong 43% from the field. But it wouldn’t be enough as C.W. Post improved their shooting as well and shot a lethal 49% for the game and came away the victors by a 90-57 margin.

LHU was led on the evening by Tyrone Palmer’s (Darby, Pa./Parkway) 16 point performance as he was 7-15 from the field.

Palmer got help from Junior Billy Arre (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) who chipped in 11 points in a near double-double effort as he also hauled in eight rebounds.

The Bald Eagles forced 17 turnovers on the evening and flustered C.W. Post at times but not enough to come away with a victory.

C.W. Post was led by guard Jonathan Schmidt’s 22 point effort. Post had four players score double digits.

The Bald Eagles are next back in action on Tuesday, November 20 as they play host to the University of Charlestown. The opening tip is slated for 7:30 at Thomas Fieldhouse.
