The Lady Eagles fell to IUP today.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University swim team (2-1) fell to Indiana (Pa.) University 138-103 this afternoon in the Haven’s Zimmerli pool.
Freshman sensation Amanda Terray (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) led the Haven effort with two first place finishers. She won both the 100 (1:00.71) and 200 (2:14.51) backstroke events.
Sophomore Ashley Lightcap (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) took first in the 100 butterfly, while Shannon Samanka (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) and Amanda Palmer (Exton, Pa./Dowington East) added a one-two finish in the 200 IM.
Senior Kelly Grieneisen (Pittsburgh/Plum) took second in the 200 freestyle while Stephanie Kudrick (Coudersport, Pa./Coudersport) and Brittany Williams (North East, Pa./North East) both added second-place finishes in today’s meet.
Shannon Wilbur (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) recorded a season-best mark in the 100 freestyle event. The sophomore took fourth with a time of 1:00.68.
Samanka was fourth in the 500 freestyle, while sophomore Becky Fountaine (Wantage, N.J./High Point) finished fifth in the same event with a season-best time of 5:54.59.
LHU head coach Andy Waeger was pleased with the team’s overall effort today as the Lady Eagles took on a very talented IUP squad.
The Lady Eagles will not compete again until January, but are looking forward to the winter training portion of their season.
On Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. LHU will host California (Pa.) University and Slippery Rock University in Zimmerli pool.
