Matt Fittery was 3-0 on the day with three major decisions, while outscoring opponents 37-12.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University wrestling team went 2-1 today at the LHU Duals in Thomas Fieldhouse.
The Bald Eagles came out soaring and cruised in the day’s opening match as they dominated East Stroudsburg University 34-4.
Lock Haven took the first nine matches, leading 34-0 heading in the match’s final bout. In three of LHU’s nine wins, the Haven tallied bonus points with two major decisions and one tech fall.
Kicking the match off at 125 pounds, sophomore George Ester (Odenton, Md./Arundel) got things rolling for the Bald Eagles. He dominated ESU’s Matt Benedetti from the opening whistle and eventually won 18-5.
Redshirt-junior Matt Fittery (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) recorded LHU’s second major decision on his way to a 11-3 win over Alex Bimes at 149 pounds.
Senior Mike Metzger (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) looked next to flawless in his match at 165. He cruised to the tech fall win in dominating fashion over Joe Schick of East Stroudsburg.
In the Haven’s second match of the day the Bald Eagles downed the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstowon 19-14.
LHU kicked off the match with a win at 125 as freshman John Trumbetti (Montvale, N.J./St. Joseph Regional) took down UPJ’s Derek Bosso 7-3.
With things tied at 3-3 freshman Owen Wilkinson (Beverly Hills, Fla./Hartland)
picked up his second win of the day to put LHU up 6-3.
Fittery then continued a hot-streak of his own recording his second major decision of the day as he downed Pitt-Johnstown’s Andrew Fiegler 12-3.
In the UPJ match the Bald Eagles also got key wins from freshman John Mangini (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) and junior Tom Kocher (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) at 157 and 174, respectively.
The Bald Eagles Ben Hepburn (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) all but ensured the Haven’s win after a hard –fought victory at 197 pounds. The redshirt-junior edged UPJ’s Patrick Walsh 8-7 putting LHU in control, leading the match 19-11 heading to the final bout at heavyweight.
In Lock Haven’s third and final match of the day the Haven fell to Drexel University 20-16.
Wilkinson (141), Fittery (149) and Kocher (174) all won for the Bald Eagles, as each was a perfect 3-0 on the day.
Fittery topped Drexel’s Dan Konno 14-6 for his third major decision of the day, as he dominated throughout today’s tournament outscoring his three opponents 37-12.
Freshman Dan Craig (Paw Paw, Mich./Allegan) was LHU’s fourth winner in the Drexel match as he ended his heavyweight-bout in just 51 seconds pinning Drexel’s Kyle Frey.
