Matt Fittery named PSAC Wrestler of the Week.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Matt Fittery (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) of the Lock Haven University wrestling team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Wrestler of the Week the conference office announced today.

Fittery enjoyed a strong showing this weekend at the LHU Duals as the redshirt-junior went a perfect 3-0 in leading the Haven to a 2-1 record. All three of Fittery’s wins came with bonus points as he recorded three major decisions.

He opened the day by beating ESU’s Alex Bines 11-3 and followed that up with a 12-3 win over UPJ’s Andrew Flegler. He capped off his day by dropping Drexel’s Dan Konno 14-6.

With the three wins Fittery improves to 8-3 on the year with five major decisions.

His five major decisions are tied for second best in the conference.

Fittery and his Bald Eagle teammates are back in action on Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Southern Scuffle hosted by the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
