Tom Kocher picked up a key win at 184 helping the Bald Eagles past Oregon State in the Haven's second match today.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Lock Haven University wrestling team (6-2) went 1-1 today (Jan. 11) at the Virginia Duals tournament.

The Bald Eagles opened the day with a 31-3 loss at the hands of Old Dominion.

Rookie Dan Craig (Paw Paw, Mich./Allegan) prevented the shutout, picking up a win at heavyweight for the Haven. He defeated Old Dominion’s Andy Totusek 5-3.

In their second match of the day the Bald Eagle grapplers edged Oregon State University 18-16 rebounding from their tournament opening loss.

Five individual wins powered LHU past OSU.

Freshman Billy Ashnault (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield), sophomore Landis Wright (Wingate, Pa./Bald Eagle), junior Tom Kocher (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township), sophomore Jeremie Cook (Venice, Fla./Venice) and redshirt-junior Ben Hepburn (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) all earned win for Lock Haven.

Cook’s win was a big one for LHU as he pinned Oregon State’s Kyle Bressler at the 4:24 mark of their 197-pound bout.

Action at the Virginia Duals continues tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 12).
