Freshman John Trumbetti controls Edinboro's Greg Sill in tonight's 125-bout.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University wrestling team (6-5, 0-2 EWL) fell to No. 14 Edinboro University (7-2, 3-0 EWL) 30-11 tonight in Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) dual-meet action at home in Thomas Fieldhouse.

Three Bald Eagles picked up wins for LHU on the night including John Trumbetti (Montvale, N.J./St. Joseph Regional), Clint Shirk (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle) and Jeremie Cook (Venice, Fla./Venice).

Trumbetti got things rolling in the Bald Eagles favor early as the freshman picked up a major decision win at 125 pounds in the night’s opening bout. He dominated Edinboro’s Greg Sill from the opening whistle and won 11-0.

Shirk picked up a win at 141 after downing Edinboro’s Ryan Morgan 5-1.

At 184, Cook picked up a 15-5 major decision over Donald Walker of EU.

The Bald Eagles are back in action next Friday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. when they host Cleveland State in EWL action.
